Job Description Job Summary We are seeking a strategic and experienced Benefits Manager to lead the administration and optimization of our employee benefits programs. This role is responsible for managing the 401(k) plan, Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP), health and welfare benefits, leaves of absence, and workers' compensation. The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of managerial experience and a forward-thinking approach to benefits strategy, compliance, and employee engagement.
Essential Functions - Develop and implement benefits strategies aligned with the organization's total rewards philosophy.
- Administer and oversee the 401(k) plan and ESPP, including vendor relationships, employee education, and compliance.
- Manage health and welfare benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability plans, and other benefits offerings.
- Lead leave of absence programs (FMLA, ADA, parental leave, etc.) and ensure consistent application of policies.
- Experience overseeing workers' compensation claims and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for resolution.
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and other applicable regulations. Prepare and submit required government reports, such as Form 5500, ACA filings, and nondiscrimination testing.
- Prepare and review reports for audits, filings, and internal analysis.
- Compile and analyze benefits data to produce reports on utilization, trends, and program effectiveness for leadership decision-making.
- Streamline benefits enrollment processes, guide employees through enrollment and changes, and resolve inquiries by interpreting policies and collaborating with vendors.
- Oversee approval of billing statements, reconcile benefits accounts, and manage vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and high-quality service delivery.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for employees and HR partners.
- Develop communication strategies to promote understanding and utilization of benefits.
- Lead and mentor benefits team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in benefits administration.
- Strong knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) preferred.
- Proven ability to think strategically and execute operationally.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Experience with HRIS systems and benefits platforms preferred.
